The Heel-bone is Connected to the Jawbone

Laying in the dentist’s chair the other day it suddenly occurred to me that this recent plantar fasciitis in my right foot … could conceivably be related to the new crown this dentist gave me. Hey, it’s all connected. I am one body and everything relates.

When I repeated this idea a few weeks later to my chiropractor, she didn’t disavow me of this notion, which furthers my conviction that it is highly related. I’m grinding at night, and I suppose it has shown up as this broken old filing, (now a crown) and manifesting in weird kinks in my neck and jaw, as well as my hip. Like I say, it’s all connected.

I’ve improved all my footwear, spent $900 on a custom night guard for my teeth that I haven’t really started wearing yet, and have been taping the right foot with KT Tape. I feel so athletic, but really I haven’t trained for anything, this is just normal living. Day-to-day for me, in a low-stress work from home job, no kids. Life is good, so I really wonder (worry) what’ll happen when my body really needs to perform, if things were to get stressful. I have gained the legendary covid-19 – as in pounds – yes, my frame now carries 19 more pounds than it did this time last year, and I’ve been grinding my teeth at night for a while, I’ve been told.

So, learning to relax and unwind, figuring out what floats my boat…that’s my healing ritual. If the plantar fasciitis isn’t gone by my next birthday, I’ll go see a podiatrist I suppose. Hopefully my swimming, chiropractic care and cycling/paddling routine will start to take the pounds off and help with the plantar fasciitis, but the pounds don’t melt off as quickly as they pile on, so patience and kindness to myself are also key.
