I have fibroids in my uterus, and evidently, they grow. Apparently, this is a common issue among women, some 40-80% of all females experience varying degrees of fibroids, but it’s something you don’t hear much about unless (or until?) it happens to you. I know at least three women over fifty who chose to remove their whole uterus rather than to live with the pain and discomfort of the fibroids.
Should that sentence be plural, as in – their uteri?

Even looking up the research and the cleveland clinic articles on this topic causes my lower back to ache and I begin to wonder how much I really need my uterus. Lucky for me, this pain comes and goes, and I tolerate it pretty well. I guess I’ll know when and if I really need to do something about it.
My body will let me know, it always does.
